What's Included in our Ceramic Coating

& Wheel Coating Packages

Ceramic coating is a liquid nano-ceramic polymer (SiO2, TiO2, or SiC) that chemically bonds to a vehicle's clear coat and forms a transparent, hydrophobic, sacrificial layer protecting paint from UV rays, chemical etching, light scratches, and water spotting.

Wheel coating uses the same chemistry in a high-temperature formulation engineered to survive the 600°F+ environment behind a hot brake rotor and resist baked-on brake dust.

Service What's Included Durability
Ceramic coating SiO2/SiC nano-polymer, paint decontamination, clay-bar treatment, IPA wipe-down, layered application, IR-assisted cure 2 to 5 years
Wheel coating High-temp formulation, off-vehicle application covering face and barrel, brake-dust resistance rated to 600°F 1 to 2 years
Ceramic sealant upgrade Additional top-coat layer over base ceramic coating, enhanced gloss, and chemical resistance 12 to 24 months
Windshield coating Hydrophobic glass treatment, water contact angle 100 to 110 degrees, improved wet-weather visibility 1 to 2 years
Glass coating Full vehicle glass treatment across all windows, UV blocking, and grime resistance 1 to 2 years

Every package includes paint decontamination, clay-bar treatment, IPA panel wipe-down, layered coating application, and a documented before-and-after with paint-depth readings. Higher tiers add machine paint correction, wheel coating (off-vehicle, face and barrel), glass and trim coating, and IR-assisted cure for film integrity. Final pricing depends on vehicle size, condition, and tier.

Vehicles with heavy rock-chip exposure on the hood, fenders, and mirrors benefit from paint protection film on impact zones combined with ceramic coating on the rest of the vehicle.

How Our Process Works

1. Pre-inspection and Paint Reading

Digital paint-depth gauge maps clear-coat thickness across panels and documents existing swirls, water spots, and oxidation under LED lighting.

2. Decontamination

Two-bucket pH-neutral foam wash, iron remover, tar remover, and clay-bar pass remove all bonded contaminants. IPA wipes strip residual oils.

3. Paint Correction

One- to three-step machine polishing removes swirl marks, buffer trails, and oxidation before coating locks in the result permanently.

4. Layered coating + IR cure

Coating is applied panel-by-panel in a cross-hatch pattern, layered per package tier, and accelerated with infrared lamps for full film integrity.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Got a question? We’re here to help.

  • What does the cost of ceramic coating depend on?

Three factors set the price of a professional ceramic coating: vehicle size (sedan vs. truck vs. 3-row SUV), coating durability tier (2-year, 5-year, or lifetime warranty), and paint correction required before application. A vehicle with heavy swirl marks needs multi-stage correction before coating, which adds to the labor cost. Walk-in inspections at our Rancho Cucamonga studio are free and end with a written quote.

  • How long does ceramic coating last?

A professionally installed ceramic coating lasts 2 to 5 years on paint and 1 to 2 years on wheels, depending on prep quality, coating brand, and maintenance schedule. Lifetime-warranty coatings are recoated by us during the warranty period at no charge to maintain protection.

  • Is ceramic coating good for aluminum wheels?

Yes. Aluminum wheels benefit significantly from ceramic coating because the chemistry resists brake-dust corrosion, road salt, and oxidation that pit unprotected aluminum. Wheel-grade coatings are engineered for the 600°F+ temperatures behind a hot brake rotor. Paint-grade coating will not survive that environment.

  • How often should you wash a ceramic-coated car?

Every two weeks under normal conditions, or weekly if you commute long distances or park outdoors in summer. Use a pH-neutral car shampoo, the two-bucket method with grit guards, and a clean microfiber mitt. Avoid automatic brush washes and avoid letting the car dry in direct sun mid-wash.

  • Does ceramic coating protect against rock chips?

No. Ceramic coating is approximately 2 microns thick once cured; it cannot absorb impact energy. Rock-chip protection requires Paint Protection Film (PPF), a 6 to 10 mil polyurethane layer that absorbs impacts. Many customers combine PPF on impact zones (hood, fenders, mirrors) with ceramic coating on the rest of the vehicle.

  • What's the difference between ceramic coating and ceramic wax?

Ceramic wax is a consumer-grade hybrid product (typically 5 to 8% SiO₂) that lasts 3 to 6 months. Professional ceramic coating is 80 to 90%+ SiO₂ or SiC and lasts 2 to 5 years. The price difference reflects the chemistry, the prep work, and the controlled cure environment required for proper bonding.
